Rimac Nevera – A Simple yet Elegant Design That Serves to Practicality
Considering how the Rimac Nevera looks from the outside might lead you to a wrong judgment. It looks exactly like any other ordinary hypercar from the Koenigsegg’s or the Ferrari’s. However you cannot judge a book by its cover, this car has achieved far more than just how it looks like. Rimac Nevera holds the title for being the fastest electric car in the world that’s in production as of 2024. If you’re reading just in order to know the Rimac Nevera top speed, well, it can easily reach a claimed top speed of up to 412 kilometers per hour (kmph), roughly around 258 miles an hour (mph).
Coming back to the exteriors, the design language is somewhat of a less flashy sports car that hides a different character underneath. It’s quite different and rare to see these days when you notice a sports car that aesthetically looks less aggressive. It shares a majority of its design elements from Rimac’s first ever project car from scratch, the Concept One hypercar. Withstanding an immense performance potential, the exterior design is purely dedicated towards the aerodynamics and system cooling purposes of Rimac Nevera. Although, it’s not as if the car looks out of the league in terms of being a hypercar. Everything remains the same in the case of Rimac Nevera, such as the wide aerodynamic stance with low ground clearance.
Rimac Automobili has done a brilliant job designing the Nevera, there is nothing that could be tagged as impractical on this hypercar. The exterior plays a key role in Nevera’s active aerodynamics system that adjusts four different elements, two at the front and two at the back including the rear wing. All of these active elements are hydraulically operated ducts and wings that automatically deploy as the car accelerates, brakes, corners, or is even at its top speed. These active elements help the Rimac Nevera generate 326 percent more downforce with high-speed stability as well as cornering, and even functioning as an air brake. As it is a fully electric hypercar, almost every action of the car is being controlled by an intelligent ICU unit that takes care of the dampers, brakes, steering, throttle, electronic stability control (ESC), etc.
